Farm Girl Blocks, Post #4

DSCN0955DSCN0953

Twelve more completed blocks from the Farm Girl Vintage Book. These blocks are so much fun to do. I wish I had completed two of each blocks in different colors. It is much easier to cut two at the same time than to pull all my scraps back out later for another.

As I look back I can see where I would like to try them in all sorts of color ways. My sheep fabric is very appropriate as it is white background with tan curlies but there is not much contrast with the background fabric. The pumpkin looks very BIG and bright alongside the other blocks. Maybe I should have toned it down a bit.

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment and for checking out my blocks. Sometimes we just need a ‘it will be fine’ from someone else. I think we all second guess our color choices. One time when I was trying to audition fabric to see if it would go together a lady behind me in line said, “honey, if I put it together it goes together.” 🙂 I try to keep that in mind and not stress out about the little things.
