Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal – April 2017 – Success!

DSCN0993

I had two monthly goals for April and I am happy to say I completed both. The first goal was to join my blocks of the Vintage Farm Girl quilt with sashings and borders. As you will notice I did not make all the blocks in the book but I am happy with the ones I did. I joined the blocks with white sashings and red/white gingham corner stones. I found a cute Waverly fabric in yellow with red cherries for the borders that gives the quilt a little more ‘vintage’ feel.

Goal number two was to add the borders to my Nine Patch Star quilt which I accomplished also. 🙂 I added a solid gray border that I think frames the blocks.

Now it is your turn. Are you in the One Monthly Goal challenge with Elm Street Quilts? I have several projects in various stages of completion now so I am not sure which I will choose to be my OMG for May.

I am a retired grandmother living in sunny and hot Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

  1. Peggy – these quilts are just simply stunning. I think they are both beautiful. I have way to many UFO’s (UnFinished Objects_ sitting in my craft room. I am inspired by your one monthly goal. Between doctoral studies, book signings, raising a family, and teaching, I am now dreaming of finishing some of those projects to just have a little “me time”. Thank you for the inspiration. Kandy

      1. Your color selection and placement are very pleasing to the eye and sashings are always so difficult to get the aligned correctly. Good job!, and thx for the compliment. Robin’s Nest caught me off guard – never thought I would have issues, but all resolved now! Have a great day!
