Here is my latest baby quilt. It is made with bandana print charm squares and Kona white to make half square triangles. I added a 2 1/2″ inner border of Kona white and a 4″ outer border of red bandana print. Light blue/white gingham fabric was added as a backing with a thicker batting to make this a good quilt for baby’s floor play time.
This quilt started out in my mind to be a lap quilt but after 120 squares I quickly determined it should be a baby quilt. Not that it was difficult but I got bored. A lot of projects start off on paper being a large bed quilt but as interest decreases so does the size of the quilt.
I am happy to say that my Quilt Inspector, Sami The Wonder Dog, has given it her Seal of Approval.
That is a neat looking quilt. Colors really pop! I understand how it is to start out making one large quilt, only to bored if it is the same HSTs or same block throughout the quilt. Nice job!

Thank you. I am like a two year old with a limited attention span. 🙂

She is a good worker, but definitely not cheap. 🙂

Very nice! Yes, I get bored doing the same block over and over, part of why I don’t make many block quilts anymore!

Thank you Melanie. I usually enjoy block quilts but the half square triangles did not please me as much as I thought they would. 🙂

They’re more fun if you use multiple values (not just light/dark) and some odd fabrics, and then TURN the triangles lots of different directions. 🙂

So clean and sharp looking, perfect for a boy or girl. I love bandana fabric, and this is just fun!

That is sew cute in those fabrics! I have been avoiding the bandana fabrics because they just didn’t speak to me, but in your quilt, they are like a wonderful melody!

Thank you so much for your comment. I bought the bandana charm squares a long time ago and finally the half square triangles seemed perfect for a baby boy quilt.
