Starry Log Cabin Quilt-finished

I can finally post what I have been working on for the past four months as it has now been gifted. Anyone that knows me understands how hard it was for me to keep this a secret but now I don’t need to anymore. 🙂

I call this quilt the Starry Log Cabin and it is completed with navy blue stars, that looked black at my house, and shades of browns and off whites. I also made four pillowcases and a throw pillow to match. As you can see from my lilac wall and night table covers it was not meant to go in my bedroom but I am hoping that it will look nice in the recipient’s room.

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along.   6. That is wonderful! I love the effect from how the log cabins are laid out, I bet you really had to pay attention when laying it out (I could see myself accidentally turning one or two of the blocks the wrong way and messing up the pattern). Congrats on the finish!

  10. How beautiful! Your DIL is going to love this quilt! You have done an excellent job! Which pattern is this? I have not seen it before! Or is this one that you made up! Either way – it is beautiful and all the colors I love! Congrats Peggy
