I enjoy making items that can be used in more than one way. This little piece was made from a quilted pillow pattern called Township from Moda. I knew a couch pillow at my house would mean Sami would be in the dog house for sure. She would immediately claim it as her own and the fights would begin.
I loved the pattern and decided it would be more useful at our house as a small table runner. I also added a hanging sleeve to the back so it could be used as a wall hanging. One of these days it may become a pillow.
I used a charm pack called Basically Holiday from Benartex. It is hand quilted around the houses and blocks and measures 18″x29″.
Moda Bake Shop is a wonderful place to find free patterns.
That is so cute as a table runner or wall Hanging! Good decision!

Hi Peggy,
What a cute, happy little table topper. I’m not big on pillows and I don’t even have Sami to get in trouble with them. That is the kind of wall hanging that I would put in my sewing room, as it just makes me smile. Simple, pretty fabrics – you can imagine about the different people living in different houses. ~smile~ Roseanne

I get your meaning…My dear Scamp-kitten tried to claim my knitting last night when I left it open to measure a belt. Right after I snapped a photo, I had to zip up the knitting and work to keep her out of it. I’m tempted to knit Briannag her own duck toy, but I’m pretty sure the dogs will shred in an hour what I took much longer to knit….alas, Briannag has no knit toys…and the quilting is done in my apartment, where the cats and dogs happen not to be.

Pets can be trying but I don’t know what I would do without my Sami, even though she controls the house. 🙂

It is adorable, I love it, and would be a scrap buster as well if I chose to do it that way.
