Blockheads Block of the Week #39 of 48

DSCN1346

This week’s block is designed by Jo Morton Quilts and it is called Framed Star. This one was a little tricky with all the flying geese but it is a striking block and well worth it. As always with Blockhead instructions, they were easy to follow.

I think I am finally caught up so I can finish a few unfinished objects (UFO) that are haunting me.

Thanks for visiting with me.

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

  1. Hi Peggy,
Lovely block and a slightly different palette for you. That star really shines through doesn’t it?! I love how the small purple flower fabric really frames the star so nicely. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thanks Roseanne. I have used the purples a little so I am trying to work more into the blocks so they don’t stick out when all the blocks are finished. All the colors are from the same line but, yes, they do look different. Not so sure they will blend but they have no choice now….they are going in. 🙂

  2. I was just looking for star blocks to add to my Christmas quilt, and I ran across a block similar to this. It is very striking. The flying geese scared me away. I can do make flying geese, but only when I am really in the right frame of mind. 🙂
