Regatta Quilt Along Progress

The Regatta was an easy quilt to put it together, although it took me quite a while to get it together. 🙂 I think choosing the fabric was the hardest thing to do, then I had some medical issues and could only sew a little at a time, BUT I love the end result. I used a Jelly Roll of Moda Solids in the blue shades and supplemented the colors with a few strips of colors from Artist’s Club fabrics from my stash. I used the Kona White for the white strips and other than struggling with the raveling edges of the Kona it went together very easily. I plan on using a pretty multi color leaf design fleece fabric as shown in the second picture for the backing. Even though the blues and whites make me think of summer and the beach, the cold spell we are having right now is making me think “I need something to keep my feet warm while I’m watching TV.” Y’all know I have no other quilts around my house to use. 🙂

The quilt pattern is a free download from block M Quilts  and the Quilt Along is the brain child of Roseanne of  Home Sewn by Us.

I am so glad to be back in my sewing room, even if it is for a few minutes at a time.

ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT THAT YOU MAY BE HEARING MORE ABOUT: THE NEW GREAT GRANDBABY IS A BOY AND WILL BE HERE IN JUNE!!!!!!

Author:

I am a retired grandmother living in hot and sunny Florida. I spend most of my days doing what I love: sewing and quilting. I have a spoiled rotten Boston Terrier named Sami who keeps me busy mostly by cleaning up after her and refilling holes in the yard that she insists on digging and burying her toys. Of course then she digs them up and brings them into the house resulting in...you guessed it...more cleaning. I will be posting pictures of Sami, quilts, flowers, and other things as they come along. Glad to have you join me.

  1. PEGGY!!!!!
You are back!! I missed you. Wow, your quilt turned out fabulous. I just love the blues and white together . . . as you may have noticed since I copied you and Daniella. Why reinvent the wheel?! I hope Sami and you are all better now, and how exciting is it that it’s a boy?! I have a sweet little boy that I love to pieces, so you can join me with your own sweet boy. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. You beat me Lady! But I am headed in the other room (now that I have finished the email and morning things) to put my together! It will be much different that others, but this is what I have come up with. I am almost to 100% – YEA Just the nagging coughing – Buy stock in Hall’s Cough Drop – you will make $$$$.
So glad you are getting back on your feet. Just not fun when we cannot play in the Studios’ Pet Sami!

    1. Glad to see you are sewing. It took me weeks, sewing a couple strips at a time but finally finished something. Feeling so accomplished! 🙂 Could not let a simple jelly roll quilt beat me. I love the design with the white squares and strips. Looking forward to seeing yours. Sami said Hi.

  3. Nice project and great colors! I hope it keeps you warm as you recover from your health problems. I am suffering too, so my blog is kind of silent for now. When the coughing subsides I may wander out to the sewing room again. Congrats on the grandbaby news!

  4. Hi Peggy, I love your Regatta quilt! The fabrics you chose look beautiful together. I have such a hard time picking fabrics too, sometimes I think I should just splurge and buy some quilt kits to skip that whole process.😋
Congratulations on new baby in the family, he will get a snuggily quilt from GGM I’m sure 😊
Hope you are feeling all better soon.

  5. I just got a comment and before I could read it or see who it was from a notice popped up and said, “Comment trashed and will be deleted.” I have NO idea what happened and I did not mean to deleted anyone’s comment. If it was your comment, please repost and accept my apology. My fat fingers must have pressed the wrong button somehow. 😦
